Town Festivals & Council Events

Town festivals and council events

A town festival is judged on whether the children come back the next day

We work with town councils, associations and festival committees across Catalonia, providing giant games, inflatables, rides and shows, with the documentation, insurance and certificates the administration requires.

Running a town's main festival has a difficulty private events do not: you have to satisfy three very different audiences on one budget. Families with small children want inflatables and workshops in the late afternoon; teenagers want something competitive with a scoreboard; adults want the evening dance and the brass band. Programming that serves only one of the three empties the square as soon as that slot ends.

So we work by time slots rather than equipment lists. We propose what goes on from eleven to two, what from five to eight and what after ten, calculating how many people each activity moves per hour so you do not get forty-minute queues that end in arguments. We also help lay out the square, because concentrating everything in one spot creates a bottleneck and leaves half the space empty.

We handle the administrative side. Public liability insurance, structural certificates, technical sheets with weights and power draw, responsible declarations and whatever each council asks for. It is the part that causes the most delay when left until last, and the part that gives most reassurance to the municipal officer who has to sign the authorisation.

It pays to talk about the budget line early. Councils work with fixed amounts and approval timelines that do not always match the festival dates. We prepare quotes in the format municipal finance requires, with the itemised breakdown usually requested, and we can scale the scope to the available figure rather than sending a proposal that later has to be cut back wholesale.

Programmed by time slot, not by catalogue

We propose what works at each hour of the day based on who is actually in the square then, so activities do not clash with mealtimes or die off mid-afternoon.

All paperwork in order

Insurance, structural certificates, technical sheets and responsible declarations, delivered in advance so the municipal officer can review them without pressure.

Built for outdoors

Equipment suitable for squares, asphalt, earth or grass, with ballast and anchoring by surface type, and clear wind and rain criteria for when a ride has to stop.

How we set it up

  1. Tell us about the festival

Town, dates, square or site, available budget and what audience you expect in each slot.

  2. We propose a programme

Which activity at which hour, how many people it moves, its footprint and a closed price for the whole thing, within 24 hours.

  3. We send the documentation

Insurance, certificates and technical sheets to the relevant department, with enough margin for approval without stress.

  4. We build and operate

Build the evening before or that morning, our own staff on every activity throughout the festival, and takedown at the end.

Formats and ideas that work

  • Inflatable park and rides for the family afternoon
  • Giant wooden games spread across the square
  • Fairground games tournament with prizes for teenagers
  • Brass band and street parade to open the day
  • Evening dance with a jukebox, karaoke and food carts
  • Simulators and rides for the youth area
  • Open-air summer cinema with a games area beforehand
  • Bike and scooter circuit for younger children in the square

On the day, on the ground

However well planned, something always happens at a town festival: more people turn up than expected, the afternoon programme runs late, or wind forces a zone to move. So our build lead stays in the square all day with authority to reorganise on the spot. Nobody has to ring the office or wait for approval: whoever is there can decide.

That same authority is what allows safety rules to be applied without debate in the moment. If an inflatable has to stop for wind, or an activity closes because a bottleneck has formed, it happens and it is explained. We would rather have an awkward two-minute conversation with the municipal officer than an incident that ends in an accident report.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with public procurement?

Yes. We are used to minor contract procedures and to submitting the documentation each council requires. If you need a specific quote or invoice format, we adapt.

What happens if wind or rain is forecast?

There are clear protocols: inflatables stop above a given wind speed and certain activities are covered or suspended. We decide with the municipal officer on safety criteria, not improvisation.

Can you cover several days of a main festival?

Yes, routinely. Equipment can stay built across several days with agreed security, or be built and dismantled daily if the square has other uses. We plan it around what the town needs.

Do you provide staff for the activities?

Yes. Every activity requiring turn control or safety supervision comes with our monitors, and it is stated in the quote. We do not leave equipment unattended in public space.

Can you coordinate with the festival committee?

Yes, and it is standard in smaller towns. We work equally well with municipal technical staff and with volunteer committees, adapting the level of coordination detail to who is on the other side and how much organising experience they have.
