Company Parties

Company parties

The problem with a company party is not the music: it is that nobody gets up

We run the entertainment at company parties of any size: casino tables, photo booths, bar games, shows and food carts, with build, staffing and takedown included.

Almost every company party repeats the same scene: dinner ends, the bar opens and the room splits into the same huddles that already existed in the office. Music alone does not fix it, because dancing requires a level of comfort not everyone has with their colleagues. What does fix it is putting something to do between the tables and the bar: a casino area, a photo booth with a queue, a table football. People move, they mix, and the party starts without anyone having to push it from a microphone.

The specific choice depends heavily on the workforce profile. Younger companies respond to competitive games and an arcade bar; more senior teams do better with a casino, which has a slower rhythm and lets people sit and talk while playing. And in very mixed companies the photo booth is the common denominator: everyone takes the picture, from the intern to the managing director, and the print stays stuck to a monitor for months.

The schedule matters too. A party that starts with standing drinks at eight and finishes at two supports three or four proposals in sequence: something light at the start, the main draw after dinner, and late-night food at the end. A seated dinner that rises at eleven only leaves room for one well-built activity, and stretching beyond that ends in equipment nobody uses.

We work with our own equipment and our own staff, so the person who sends the quote coordinates the load-in, the build and the removal. In hotel function rooms and rental venues we also handle whatever documentation the venue requires, which is usually the most time-consuming part when left to the final week.

Gets people out of their huddle

A casino area or a games bar forces movement around the room. It is the most effective way to mix departments without anyone having to force an introduction.

Works without a stage or a microphone

The party does not have to stop for the activity to start. Everything we propose coexists with the music, the bar and the conversations without demanding the room's attention.

Leaves a physical memento

Booth prints, casino prizes and photo-wall pictures keep circulating around the office for weeks afterwards. It is the part of the party that carries on.

How we set it up

  1. Tell us the format

Seated dinner or standing reception, guest count, timings and what kind of venue it is.

  2. We propose the spread

Which activity in each stretch of the night, how many people it serves and a closed price within 24 hours.

  3. We settle it with the venue

Load-in times, floor area, power points and whatever documentation the hotel or venue requires.

  4. We build and staff it

Build before guests arrive, staff on every activity all night, and removal at close.

Formats and ideas that work

  • Photo booth with unlimited prints and a corporate frame
  • Arcade and table football bar next to the drinks area
  • Short closing show before the dance floor opens
  • Hot food cart from one in the morning onwards
  • Prize wheel with company gifts at the end of the night
  • Professional karaoke for the second half of the party
  • Photo wall with a carpet and a photographer at the entrance

A note about December

The first two weeks of December are by far the busiest of the year. Hundreds of companies celebrate on the same Friday and the good equipment, casino, photo booths, arcades, is reserved months ahead. If your party falls there, the decision about what to book ends up shaped by what is still free rather than by what you would like.

If you can move the date to the last week of November or mid-January, the difference in availability is enormous and the budget goes further. And if the date is fixed, the sensible move is to block the equipment early even if the party's details are not settled yet: everything else adjusts afterwards without difficulty.

Frequently asked questions

How much space does a casino area need?

One casino table takes about six square metres including player space. For a hundred guests we usually propose three tables, which serve well without queues. Send the room dimensions and we will tell you how many fit without eating the dance floor.

Can it carry the company's branding?

Yes: casino chips, booth frames, photo-wall backdrops and prizes. We need a high-resolution or vector logo a few days ahead for production. It is a small extra that changes how the event is perceived.

Do you work in hotel function rooms?

Routinely. We know the usual requirements: dock load-in windows, no-anchoring rules, floor loading limits on upper levels and insurance documentation. We handle it with the hotel so you do not have to mediate.

How late do you stay?

Until whatever hour is agreed in the quote. Four or five hours of service is typical. If the party runs long it can be extended on the night, with the hourly rate fixed in advance so there are no surprises.

How much notice do you need?

Two or three weeks is enough most of the year. For December, book in October: the first fortnight concentrates nearly every company party in the country and equipment sells out.
