What corporate functional training is and how it works
Outdoor functional training for companies is a station-based session: we build a circuit of six to eight stations in a park, on a terrace or in a garden, and the group rotates through them in timed rounds.
Each station works something different: strength with kettlebells or bands, balance, jumping, ropes, movement drills. Every exercise has three marked levels, and the coach calls out which one applies to whom before the start. Someone who has trained for years does the hard version; someone who has never set foot in a gym does the basic one, and both finish the same lap at the same time.
The session opens with a joint warm-up and closes with stretches. In between there's music and a fair amount of noise: it's the loudest and the most fun activity in this section.

Functional training in workplace wellbeing and health programmes
More and more companies are including exercise in their workplace wellbeing plans, and functional training for employees is one of the easiest formats to keep going over time. Station-based sessions adapt to any fitness level, take place outdoors and need no previous experience, so the whole workforce can take part.
- Regular sessions: as part of an occupational health programme, the circuit can be repeated every week.
- Three levels per exercise: each station shows its levels, and everyone picks their own without comparing themselves to others.
- Outdoors: a park, terrace or garden near the office is all you need to set up the circuit.
- A more active team: exercising together lifts the group's mood and builds shared habits.
We take care of the equipment, setting up the circuit and providing the trainers, and in summer we move sessions to early morning if there's no shade. It's a simple way to turn employee health into something practical and enjoyable. We organise it in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and any city in Spain, with a format that fits around the working day and keeps people coming back week after week.
Circuit requirements
To build a functional training circuit at your event we need:
- Space: around 200 m² of level ground. A park, a sports court, a large terrace or an empty car park all work.
- Ground: grass, compacted earth or paving. We avoid slippery surfaces and loose gravel.
- Shade: strongly advised between June and September. If there isn't any, we move the session to first thing in the morning.
- Power: not needed; the speaker runs on battery.
- Participants: sportswear, trainers and their own water bottle.
We provide all the circuit equipment, marker cones, mats, a first aid kit and a qualified coach. One coach handles up to 50 people; above that we add a second to watch technique.
Why book functional training for your company
Corporate functional training is the choice when you want energy rather than calm. It lifts the group's mood immediately and works well to break the inertia of a day of indoor sessions.
The station format has a virtue conventional group classes don't: since everyone is at a different station, nobody compares themselves to the person beside them doing the same thing. That takes the pressure off and brings in people who would normally sign up to watch.
It's also the natural fallback when an outdoor activity falls through on the weather: the same circuit goes up under cover with very few adjustments.
What kind of events the functional circuit suits
Functional training for company events fits well at:
- Outdoor company days and family days.
- Offsites and conventions, as an activation before the working sessions.
- Occupational health programmes with weekly sessions.
- Internal team challenges, scored by station.
- Brand activations in sport and nutrition.
It pairs especially well with the ice bath: first the circuit, then the ice bath, and to close, stretches or a short mindfulness session. It's the wellbeing-day programme we're asked for most.
Corporate bootcamp and team fitness challenges in Barcelona
Team energy
A corporate bootcamp is the quickest way to shake off the office routine and fire up a group. Our functional training for employees in Barcelona takes place in parks, terraces or hotel gardens and gets everyone moving, whether they train regularly or have never set foot in a gym.
If you want a competitive edge, a team fitness challenge for companies awards points at each station and ends with a leaderboard that keeps people talking all day. At long conventions it works as an energising physical activity before the sessions, and at family days the circuit offers different levels so everyone can join in. Ask for a quote with your date and numbers.
- Scored team challenges: every station adds points and the winning team takes the glory.
- Multi-day conventions: a morning activation circuit before heading into the meeting room.
- Corporate family days: outdoor training with levels for every age and fitness.
- Full wellbeing days: a functional circuit followed by an ice bath and guided stretching.

Corporate functional training price
What decides the cost of a corporate functional training session? How many coaches are needed, how big the circuit is and what it takes to move the equipment.
And the equipment is not light: a full session carries about 120 kg of kettlebells, ropes and mats. That is why transport weighs genuinely on the budget, especially for events outside Barcelona.
- Up to 50 people: one coach and a standard circuit are enough.
- Larger groups: doubling the coach and the stations nearly doubles the cost of the service.
- Weekly contracts: the per-session price comes out clearly lower than for single sessions.
Setting up the circuit
Setting up a functional training circuit takes about 30 minutes.
We lay the stations out in a circle or in two facing rows, leaving enough aisle for the rotation to flow and nobody to cut across mid-set. Each station is marked with a cone and a card showing the exercise and its three levels drawn out, so nobody has to ask what's next.
We put the speaker in the middle, the first aid kit somewhere visible and a table with water. Afterwards we collect the equipment, load it and leave the space clean in about 20 minutes.
Booking your functional training session
Want to book functional training for your company? Tell us when (date, time and how long the session will run), where (type of space and whether it has shade), how many of you there are and roughly your average level, and which format you prefer: training or a scored team challenge.
It is booked with 50% paid in advance. If a heat or rain alert is issued on the day of the session, we take the circuit to a covered space or change the date at no cost whatsoever.
One tip: warn participants early to bring sportswear. It is the most repeated oversight and it leaves people unable to take part.
Frequently asked questions
What is corporate functional training and what is a session like?
It is an outdoor circuit session: we set up 6 to 8 stations and the group rotates through them in timed rounds, led by a qualified trainer. It lasts 45 to 60 minutes, starts with a group warm-up and ends with stretching.
Do you need to be fit for functional training at an event?
No, functional training needs no previous experience. Every exercise has a basic, an intermediate and an advanced version, and everyone finishes the round at the same time. So both regular gym-goers and people who have never set foot in one can take part.
How many people can take part in functional training?
One qualified trainer leads functional training for 10 to 50 people. We supply all the equipment: kettlebells, resistance bands, ropes, cones, mats and a first-aid kit. Participants only bring sportswear, trainers and water, and our staff are included.
What space does functional training need, and what if it rains?
Functional training needs about 200 m² of level ground, such as a park or terrace. It needs no electricity: the speaker is battery-powered. We set up in about 30 minutes. If the weather is bad, we adapt the circuit to an indoor space, and in summer it is best done early or in the shade.
Can functional training be personalised with the company's logo?
Yes, functional training can be personalised with T-shirts and equipment bearing your company's logo. That way the team carries the brand throughout the activity and in the photos. We take care of transport, set-up and collection of the circuit anywhere in Spain.
