What the corporate running club is and how it works

The corporate running club in Barcelona is an organised run for your team, with a coach, a prepared route and refreshments at the end. It isn't a race and nobody competes against anyone.

The first thing we do is split the group by pace. Usually three subgroups form: a gentle one alternating walking and running, an intermediate one and a fast one. Each subgroup has its own coach, and one of them always brings up the rear, so nobody is dropped or left standing around waiting.

Before setting off we do a ten-minute warm-up together, and on return, stretches and refreshments. A typical outing runs 45 to 75 minutes door to door.

Corporate Running Club at a real event

Early-morning running at conventions, offsites and incentive trips

At a convention lasting several days, the first hour of the morning is often wasted. A running session at conventions turns it into one of the best moments of the programme: the group wakes up, clears their heads and arrives at breakfast with fresh energy.

  • From the hotel door: the meeting point is the event hotel itself, with no travel or complicated logistics.
  • By pace: we split the group into easy, intermediate and fast subgroups, each with its own coach.
  • A planned route: we design the course for the destination and check it in advance to avoid problem stretches.
  • Refreshments at the finish: afterwards the group gathers to rehydrate and chat about the run before the day begins.

On incentive trips to coastal or mountain destinations, the run is also a way to see the place from a different angle. It is not a race and nobody competes against anyone, so regular runners and those who prefer to mix walking and running can all take part. We organise running for companies in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and any destination in Spain.

Running club requirements

To organise a company running outing we need:

  • A meeting point: the office door, the event hotel or a park. We choose it together.
  • Changing rooms or somewhere to change: strongly advised if the run is during working hours. Not essential if people arrive in kit.
  • The route: we design it around the starting point. In Barcelona we usually use the seafront, Collserola or the Ciutadella.
  • What participants bring: trainers and comfortable clothing. Nothing else.

We bring the coaches, a first aid kit, water, fruit and reflective vests if the run is after dark. We can also arrange a cloakroom and shower service where the space allows.

Why book a running club for your company

A company running club is one of the few activities that sustains itself over time. It starts as a one-off outing and, if people like it, turns into a weekly fixture without anyone having to push it.

It mixes departments that otherwise never cross paths, costs almost nothing in equipment, and can be done before work starts or right after it ends, without eating into working hours.

The key to making it work is splitting by pace: that's what stops the slower runner feeling ridiculous and the faster one getting bored. Without it, a company running club lasts two weeks.

What kind of events the running club suits

Running outings for company events fit well in:

  • Occupational health programmes with a fixed weekly or fortnightly slot.
  • Multi-day conventions and offsites, as an early activity before breakfast.
  • Incentives and company trips in coastal or mountain destinations.
  • Charity challenges, where every kilometre run becomes a donation.
  • Training for teams who have signed up together for a public race.

It doesn't fit single-afternoon events with a lot of people and little time: a static activity such as archery or a yoga session works better there.

Running for employees in Barcelona and company charity runs

Miles as a team

Setting up a running programme for employees in Barcelona, Madrid or any other city is a simple way to get the whole workforce out of the office. With a running coach for companies, every outing has a planned route, pace groups and refreshments, so nobody feels they are running alone.

If your company wants a project with real impact, a corporate charity run turns the team’s miles into a donation and adds substance to your sustainability report. At incentives and conventions, an early run along the coast or in the hills wakes the group up before breakfast. Tell us your idea and we will turn it into a route.

  • Corporate charity challenges: every kilometre your staff run becomes a donation to a good cause.
  • Residential conventions: a sunrise run before the first working session of the day.
  • Training for popular races: group sessions so your team reaches the start line ready.
  • Weekly wellbeing programmes: a company running club with a fixed date every week.

Corporate running club price

What tips the price of a corporate running club most is the number of coaches, which depends on the group: roughly one per 20 runners, with two as a minimum so the group can be split by pace.

The rest of the quote adds refreshments, the team's travel and any extras you choose: personalised technical shirts, race bibs, a photographer at the start or timing if you want a challenge format.

A season contract with one outing a week comes in well below paying for single sessions. Tell us how many of you there are and how often, and we will present both options for you to compare.

Preparing the outing

Preparing a company running outing starts days before the event.

We walk the route in advance to check the surface, the traffic crossings and the points of shade and water. Where a stretch is problematic, we change it.

On the day we arrive 30 minutes early: we set up the meeting point with a refreshments table and an improvised cloakroom, hand out race numbers or vests if there are any, and split the group by pace, asking each person what pace they're comfortable at. Packing up on return takes under 15 minutes.

Booking your corporate running club

These are the details needed to book a running club at your company:

  • Day, time and whether it is a single outing or a cycle.
  • Where you meet and whether there are changing rooms.
  • How many people are coming and their average level, even by eye.
  • If you want personalised shirts or bibs, order them at least three weeks ahead.

We book with a 50% deposit. If there is a weather alert, we move the outing to another day at no cost; and if the date cannot move, we swap it for an indoor functional training session.

Frequently asked questions

What is the corporate running club and how does it work?

It is a run organised for your team, with a qualified coach, a prepared route and refreshments; it is not a race and nobody competes. We split the group by pace, each subgroup with its own coach, and one always runs at the back. The outing lasts 45 to 75 minutes.

Do you need to be a runner for the corporate running club?

No, the corporate running club needs no previous experience and the level adapts to the group. There is a gentle-jog subgroup that mixes walking and running, so nobody is left behind. Each participant just brings trainers and comfortable clothes.

Where does the corporate running club run?

We design the route ourselves based on the starting point, from 4 to 12 km, and check it beforehand. In Barcelona we usually use the seafront promenade, Collserola or the Ciutadella. A meeting point near a park is enough; we also organise the running club in the rest of Spain.

What equipment and safety does the corporate running club include?

We include water and fruit refreshments, a first-aid kit and reflective vests if the run is at night, plus one qualified coach per group. The route is checked before the run. If the venue allows it, we also arrange a cloakroom and showers.

Can the corporate running club be customised with our brand?

Yes, the corporate running club can be customised with technical T-shirts, bibs and bottles bearing your company logo. Tell us your idea in the form on the page and we will send you a fixed quote.
