Corporate paddle surfing in Barcelona is a beginners' stand-up paddle session: a large, stable board, an adjustable paddle and a qualified instructor teaching from the water.
You start at the shoreline, kneeling on the board, to find the balance point. Within five or ten minutes most people are standing. From there we head out as a group, always parallel to the coast and in shallow water, with stops to rest and swim.
It's easier than it looks from the outside, and falling in is part of the game: in shallow water and wearing a buoyancy aid, going over has no consequence beyond the photo.
For small groups we can also propose a yoga session on the board, considerably more demanding and with an edge of challenge people tend to enjoy.

For a paddle surfing activity at a company event we need:
- A beach: with vehicle access and little swell. We propose the location based on the day's forecast.
- Able to swim: mandatory, no exceptions.
- What participants bring: swimwear, a technical shirt, a cap and water-resistant sun cream.
- A changing area: advisable; if there isn't one, we bring a changing marquee.
We provide inflatable beginner boards, adjustable paddles, buoyancy aids, leashes, dry barrels, a first aid kit and qualified instructors, one per eight participants.
Wind limit: above 12 knots paddle surfing stops being practicable for beginners. In that case we propose switching to kayaking, which takes considerably more wind, or moving the date.

Corporate paddle surfing price
The price of a corporate paddle surf session is based on how many boards and instructors are needed and whether the activity runs in one go or in several shifts.
Every participant uses their own board, so the cost grows more directly with group size than with kayaks, where one boat carries two people. Splitting the group into two shifts lets you use half the boards and lowers the quote quite a bit, though it takes up more hours.
It includes boards, paddles, vests, leashes, instructors, insurance and beach permits. Charged on top are group transfer, vinyl wrapping of the boards with the company's image and the photo report.
Set-up and logistics of the session
Setting up a paddle surfing activity takes about 40 minutes.
The boards are inflatable, so most of that time goes on inflating them with a battery pump. Meanwhile we set up the equipment area, lay out buoyancy aids by size, prepare the dry barrels and mark out the practice zone if the beach is busy.
Afterwards we rinse with fresh water, deflate and load up. Another 40 minutes. The beach is left with no trace of the activity.
