Mount Kimbie come to Barcelona for Primavera Sound
Mount Kimbie play Barcelona on the bill of the Primavera Sound Festival 2018, one of the most eagerly awaited musical dates of the year in the city.
1. Who Mount Kimbie are
The duo, formed in London's underground electronic scene, has become one of the most interesting acts on the current independent landscape, thanks to a career that combines electronic experimentation with a steady evolution towards more organic sounds.
2. Their sonic evolution towards the third album
With their third album, Love What Survives (2017), Mount Kimbie take a notable turn from their beginnings: instead of starting from traditional instrumentation and veering towards the electronic — the usual path for many bands — the duo travel the opposite way, bringing in guitar and bass textures with a raw energy that recalls British post-punk. The result blends the rhythmic pulse of the dance floor with a more visceral, direct sound.
3. The project's standout collaborations
The record features contributions from artists such as James Blake, King Krule and Micachu, collaborations that enrich the group's sound and strengthen their position within the most innovative corner of the British music scene.
4. Their appearance at Primavera Sound Festival
Mount Kimbie's Barcelona show is part of Primavera Sound Festival, one of Europe's benchmark festivals for the quality and range of its line-up, drawing thousands of visitors to the city every year.
