What is French Roulette?

The French roulette table is an exciting addition to your casino-themed event, where fun is the priority and no real money is played, only your company's themed banknotes. Instead of explaining the rules of the game, I will tell you what makes it special and how it fits your event perfectly.

French roulette is a classic casino game that originated in France and is known for its elegance and sophistication. At your themed event, French roulette becomes a fascinating experience in which your guests can enjoy the thrill of the game without any financial risk.

The distinctive element of French roulette is its wheel, which has 37 numbered pockets from 0 to 36, and a refined design that will fit the look of your themed event perfectly. Players can place their bets with your company's themed banknotes, which will add a personalised and unique touch to the experience.

Imagine your guests gathered around the hired French roulette table, feeling like real casino players as they interact in a festive, relaxed atmosphere. The bets, the spins of the wheel and the anticipation of seeing which number the ball will land on will be the centre of attention, creating exciting and memorable moments for everyone.

In short, French roulette at your casino-themed event with no real money is an opportunity for your guests to enjoy the thrill of the game in an elegant, personalised setting. It will be an unforgettable experience they will remember for a long time!

Difference between the French Roulette Table and the American Roulette Table

French Roulette: The French roulette wheel has a total of 37 numbered pockets, from zero to thirty-six. The wheel has a zero shown in green, while the numbers from one to thirty-six alternate between red and black.
American Roulette: The American roulette wheel has a total of 38 pockets. Besides the green 0, there is also another number: the double zero, or 00. The numbers from one to thirty-six are painted in alternating red and black.
House edge:

French Roulette: Compared with American roulette, the casino normally has a smaller advantage when playing by French rules. This can be attributed to the fact that French roulette has only one zero. The type of bets placed determines how the house edge varies.
American Roulette: Compared with other types of roulette, the small detail of the double zero (00) puts players at a slight disadvantage. Compared with French roulette, this makes the odds less favourable for the player.
"La Partage" and "En Prison" rules:

French Roulette: The "La Partage" and "En Prison" rules are usually used in French roulette. If the ball lands on 0, these rules favour the player on outside bets. With "La Partage", players receive back fifty percent of their wager, unlike with "En Prison" where they can retrieve it on their next try.
American Roulette: In general, these rules do not apply in American roulette. The player loses their bet entirely if the ball lands on 0 or 00 while they are making an outside bet.

French Roulette: The distribution of numbers in French roulette is more even, since it has only a single zero
American Roulette: The presence of the double zero in American roulette can affect the distribution of numbers and betting odds, making it slightly less fair compared with French roulette.

In summary, the main difference between French and American roulette lies in the number of pockets on the wheel and the house edge. French roulette tends to be preferred by many players because of its lower house edge and the application of rules such as "La Partage" and "En Prison", which improve the player's odds on outside bets. The choice between the two variants will depend on each player's personal preferences and style of play.

All the Rules of the French Roulette Table

At casino-themed events we do not use all the rules of the tables, as we want it to be an easy, quick game for all guests, so we simplify it to straight-up, red and black. Below, however, is a summary of all the rules of the French table; if you want all the rules to be used there is no problem, you just have to let us know and on the day of the event all the rules will be used.

The layout of the French Roulette table includes a total of 37 pockets, each with a different number from zero to thirty-six. Each pocket is coloured alternately red and black; the particular feature is that the number 0 is usually shown in green. There are specific areas for both outside and inside bets.

Outside Bets: Players are allowed to bet on the outer areas of the board.

Red/Black: You can bet on the colour the ball will land on, either red or black.

Even/Odd: You can bet on whether the number will turn out to be even or odd.

Low/High (Manque/Passe): You can bet to predict whether the number will fall within the range of values

Inside Bets: Players can also bet within the designated areas of the board. These include:

Straight up: Betting on a specific number. The player wins the prize if the ball ends up on that number.

Split: Betting on two adjacent numbers. The player wins if the ball lands on either of the two numbers.

Street: Placing a bet on a sequence of three numbers. Winning is possible if the ball lands on one of the three numbers.

Square or Corner: If you wish, you can bet on the four adjacent numbers that form a square on the board. The player can win if the ball lands on one of the four numbers.

Six line: Placing a stake on a line covering six numbers. Victory is achieved when the ball lands on one of the six numbers.

"La Partage" rule: In French roulette there is a special rule known as "La Partage". This rule applies to even-money outside bets (red/black, even/odd, low/high) when the ball lands on 0. In this case, the player gets back half of their bet, and the other half stays on the table for the next play.

"En Prison" rule: The "En Prison" rule is similar to "La Partage". If a player makes an outside bet and the ball lands on 0, instead of losing their bet, the bet stays "in prison" for the next round. If the player wins in the next round, they get their bet back; otherwise, they lose it.

These are the fundamental rules of French roulette. It is an elegant casino game that requires a combination of luck and strategy. Guests can place a variety of bets to diversify their play and enjoy an exciting experience.
