What is the Wings of Isis show?
Wings of Isis shows for events are an extension of belly dance that originates in the cult of the Egyptian goddess Isis.
Isis was depicted in her engravings with her arms open, wearing the wings of a kite, a type of eagle, to bless her worshippers.
Isis was a good wife and at the same time a protective mother, which was one of the ultimate reasons why this type of belly dance was performed: this dance prepared women for fertilisation and for entering marriage.
Today the Wings of Isis is used as a fantasy oriental dance, giving the event an impressive and magical show and transporting the event's guests to the time when these Egyptian gods were worshipped.
