The popcorn maker fills different containers and places these boxes on a side shelf on the left of the popcorn cart so that guests only have to pick up the popcorn.

Possibility of making salted popcorn and sweet popcorn

It is not necessary since it is very simple to use. This same page explains in detail how to do it and how many consumables are needed depending on the hours of use, and on delivery we explain how it works once more, taking as long as needed to go through it in detail.

If you wish, we can place a hostessat the event to make popcorn for as long as you need. People usually ask us to provide staff, as our employees are used to this kind of service. The price is per hour for our staff on popcorn cart hire in Barcelona; for other cities it is better to enquire so that we can plan ahead.

It is very simple to operate and anyone could do it, but someone does need to run it. First of all, you must plug it in to a standard 220v power socket. Remember that if you connect it to a generator, the machine consumes about 1370 watts.

Once plugged in, you must switch on the 3 switches on the top. The one on the far left is for the light and to keep the popcorn warm, the second one in the middle is for the motor that turns the kettle so the popcorn is stirred while it pops, and the last one switches on the kettle heat. It is important not to leave the kettle heat switch on for the whole event, as the kettle could burn.

When all three are on, we wait a couple of minutes and fill the 40cl measure with sunflower oil , never olive or any other oil, and pour it into the kettle. Then we fill the measure of corn that we supply right to the top and also pour it into the kettle. Last, we also add the measure of salt with butter flavour, 8-10 g (special salt for the popcorn machine, never any other).

If we want coloured sweet popcorn, instead of salt we use the special sugar prepared for popcorn machine hire. The exact dose is half a cup of corn, which is about 100g. To prepare the popcorn sugar, mix 1 kilo of regular sugar with 1 kilo of special concentrated colouring sugar for popcorn machine hire.

We wait a couple of minutes and when we no longer hear popcorn popping, it means it is ready. Then we can lift the kettle lid and tilt it into the top position to empty all the popcorn using the other lever.

Once all the popcorn has been cooked, it is important to switch off the kettle heat switch. Meanwhile the first switch keeps all the popcorn warm, and you can also switch off the middle switch that turns the popcorn while it is made.

And... done! We now have popcorn with just the right salt or sugar, ready to enjoy. Delicious!

Each time we want to make popcorn, we use the 200g corn dispenser, so each batch yields approximately 250 g of popcorn, which is roughly 6 containers of popcorn, since each cardboard container holds 45g of popcorn.

As an example for 6 containers ( 1 batch ) we would need the following:

• Approximately 200 g of corn
• Approximately 5 g of regular sugar
• Approximately 5 g of concentrated coloured sugar
• 10 g of special salt for popcorn machine hire
• Approximately 40 ml of sunflower oil
• We would have approximately 6 containers of 45g of popcorn

As an example for 200 containers we would need the following:

• Approximately 6.6 kilos of corn
• Approximately 180 g of regular sugar
• Approximately 180 g of concentrated coloured sugar
• 340 g of special salt for popcorn machine hire
• Approximately 1 litre of sunflower oil
• We would have approximately 200 containers of 45g of popcorn

As an example for 600 containers we would need the following:

• Approximately 20 kilos of corn
• Approximately ½ kilo of regular sugar
• Approximately ½ kilo of concentrated coloured sugar
• 1 kilo of special salt for popcorn machine hire
• Approximately 3 litres of sunflower oil
• We would have approximately 600 containers of 45g of popcorn

Each time popcorn is cooked, it takes approximately 2-3 minutes to cook the corn in the machine.

If we want to calculate on average how many containers can be made at an event we can do it as follows.

We know that to make 6 containers we need a maximum of 3 minutes of cooking. Our staff in charge of the machine will need a minimum amount of time to prepare the ingredients, at most 1 minute each time, and then, once the popcorn is cooked, it needs to be stirred and placed into 6 containers, with a smile J, so this task can take at most 2 minutes. Assuming hungry guests who grab the containers as soon as they come out, we can reach the following conclusion:

Total preparation, cooking and serving time: 6 minutes for 6 containers, and if we divide it we see that 60 containers of 45g can be prepared in 60 minutes.

• 1 hour of event: 60 containers of 45 g.
• 2 hours of event: 120 containers of 45 g.
• 3 hours of event: 180 containers of 24 g.

The setup we carry out is quite simple, since everything is already assembled except joining the machine to the cart. The only time needed is to carry it from our van to the area where the popcorn machine will be enjoyed.

So it will be completely different for each event

The popcorn machine needs standard electrical power of 220v. It consumes about 1,370w at full performance and 300w while keeping warm.

If it is placed outdoors and none of our staff are present, the client must take care of covering the machine and protecting it if it starts to rain during the event. If it is outdoors for several days and not in an enclosed venue, the machine would need to be watched by security staff or stored in a safe, closed place when not in use.

As you can see in the photographs, the popcorn cart has built-in wheels so the machine can be placed wherever you wish. The only thing to bear in mind is that popcorn machines for hire need electrical power, so before moving the cart it must be unplugged and then plugged in again wherever the popcorn cart is relocated.

Time needed to book

The popcorn machine with cart can be booked one day in advance. The problem may be that it was already booked earlier and we cannot offer it, which is why we recommend booking at least one month in advance.

It is also possible that at that moment we do not have some of the consumables needed, such as salt or sugar, which are special for professional popcorn machines for hire, so we would have to order them and it takes a few days to receive the products.

Therefore we recommend booking one month in advance.

How to book the popcorn machine hire in Barcelona

Whether in Barcelona or another city, 50% of the event must be paid in advance, and at that moment it is booked.

To make the booking we need to issue an invoice with the details of the party and the bank account number, so we need you to send us the following by e-mail:

• Time/Day of setup of the salted / sweet popcorn machine
• Time/Day of the start of the wedding / party / fair / event
• Name of the contact for when we arrive at the event venue
• Phone number of the contact for when we arrive at the event venue
• Exact location where the event will take place
• Tax details of the company if it is a company

Can the booking be cancelled once the deposit has been paid?

The booking is a guarantee that gives you exclusivity of the machine, so if another client asks us for the product we cannot offer it, since we reserve the product for the client who has made a booking.

100% will be refunded of the booking if it rains when the machine was to be placed outdoors, or if the whole event is cancelled.

To prepare a price quote for the hire, we have to add up the following points.

• Hire of the popcorn cart (per day)
• Supply of consumables (Oil, special salt or sugar, corn and containers)
  It will depend on the total number of hours of use, or on the number of popcorn containers you want to serve.
• Hiring of staff
• Location where you want to hire the sweet or salted popcorn cart. In Barcelona and surrounding areas, transport and setup are free.

If you ask us for several games for events outside Barcelona, we can also offer free transport or at least reduce it.

Yes, generally 80% of the games we install are not in Barcelona, but in places such as Madrid, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Lleida, Girona or Tarragona, for example.

Setup, dismantling and transport to the event venue will vary depending on the specific location, but rest assured that these services will always be included in the final price of the quote.
